Our Postcard

If you are one who retails or wholesales Christmas trees, Quality Treeswe would like to acquaint you with Finestkind Tree Farms. We are a family owned and operated business, growing 100 acres of quality Christmas trees in the Central Maine area since 1967. We specialize in the production of balsam fir. In our ongoing effort to grow quality trees, ones with dark green foliage, high density, long needles and good keepability, we have selected seed from our own superior seed trees. We take pride in our product. One look will show our dedication to producing a truly beautiful tree.

Our trees are offered in the three grades and standard sizes specified in the U.S. standard grades. We believe our prices are competitive and will allow you to offer your customers a desirable product at an attractive price.

Great Trees The balsam fir is the traditional Christmas tree. Many people know it for that wonderful fragrance of balsam. The smell of Balsam is what has made this tree popular. Beautiful lush green color, hearty branches for hanging those special ornaments, and good needle retention make the balsam fir an all time favorite.

If you are interested in buying Christmas trees, we invite you to visit our farm and see first hand the different grades and quality product we offer.

Feel free to call or Email us if we can help you in any way or for our current price list and delivery information. We hope to see you this season!

Sincerely,
Jim & Duane LaCasce

Jim LaCasce, who is 65, knows his trees. He grew up in the woods of western Maine and earned a forestry degree at Syracuse University in New York. He then worked as a state forester and a consulting forester in Maine before starting Finestkind Tree Farms in 1967. He was one of the early growers of cultivated Christmas trees in what had been a mainly wild-tree market, persevering through the initial reluctance of consumers to pay more for farm-grown trees.

Today, in a market dominated by cultivated trees, LaCasce's trees are judged to be the best in Maine. This fall, Finestkind trees won in all four Christmas tree categories - spruce, white pine, other pine, fir - at the state's annual Fryeburg Fair. One of LaCasce's balsam fir was judged grand champion.
