Halloween is one of the best nights of the year, and to make it even better, we looked high and low for the very best treats (and no tricks). A quick note — these are seasonal go-to’s and Halloween party staples that can be kicked up a notch with your favorite tincture or infused chocolate. Remember, these infused treats are intended for adult use only. Please enjoy responsibly.
Spicy Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
This is a Taste of Home recipe jazzed up by the crew at Leafly, so you know it’s good!
- 2 cups pumpkin seeds
- 2 tbsp cannabis-infused cooking oil (if you’re using a tincture, start with a single or double dose — between 1 and 2 mg)*
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp hot sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 paprika
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Combine pumpkin seeds, infused oil, Worcestershire and hot sauces. Toss to coat evenly. In a separate bowl, combine spices. Sprinkle over seeds and toss until evenly coated. On a greased, foil-lined sheet pan, spread out the seeds. Roast uncovered at 250 for 45 minutes or until dry and lightly toasted, stirring every 15 minutes. Allow to cool, then enjoy.
*For a kicked-up, full effect, add the tincture to the roasted pumpkin seeds immediately after they’re removed from the oven. Toss evenly on the hot pan, then allow to cool.
Caramel Apples with Infused Chocolate
Another Leafly classic, this is a grown-up version of the famed candy apple.
- 1 bag caramels
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 6 green apples
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 bar cannabis-infused chocolate
- Wooden skewers
- Chopped nuts, crushed cookies, coconut (optional)
Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside. Combine caramels and evaporated milk in a large saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until caramels are melted and smooth, stirring often. Remove from heat and let stand for five minutes. Skewer apples and dip in caramel, then move to prepared sheet pan and refrigerate until caramel is firm.
Meanwhile, combine chocolate chips and infused chocolate in a bowl placed over a pot of simmering water. Stir until chocolate is melted. Dip the caramel apples in the melted chocolate and allow to cool on a fresh piece of parchment. If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts or roll in the crushed cookies or coconut.
Chips and infused guac are never out of place!
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 lime
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- Cannabis tincture
Mash skinned avocados in a bowl. Add salt and stir. Add the juice of one lime and stir again. Stir in red onion. Add 1-3 doses of tincture, depending on the effects you’re after and the number of people sharing the guac. Mix well and taste, adding salt and lime juice as necessary. Enjoy with tortilla chips.
