Sleep better, look better, feel better – sounds like a dream, right? If you’re the New Year’s resolution type, you may be two weeks into the best year of your life. You know, the one where you finally get a handle on nutrition, fitness, that nagging back pain, and your propensity for leaning on OTC pain killers a little too heavily. While it’s true that the vast majority of New Year’s resolutions – some 92%!– are abandoned at some point, you have a secret weapon at your fingertips. Yep, we’re talking about cannabis.Read more
First came Teal and her bike, and then David with his short-distance running. Now, we’re welcoming Jason Akio Safarik into the athlete ambassador fold. The recreational endurance athlete is kicking things up with a move to competitive distance running, and his eyes are on the 2020 Olympic Trials. Along the way, he’s on board to spread the word about the athletic effects of CBD and cannabis as a whole. And we love him for it. Read more
Things are happening, and we aren’t just referring to states legalizing cannabis one at a time. No, the latest news is at the federal level, and it’s big. As early as mid-December – that’s right about now – hemp and hemp-derived CBD could become legal federally, which would mean hemp production for any use would have the green light in all 50 states. And make no mistake – that would absolutely set the stage for the legalization of cannabis as a whole. It’s all thanks to the Farm Bill. Read more
Any budtender will tell you that in the fledging cannabis industry, the majority of customer interest is solely on THC percentages. That limited focus stands out as one of the biggest tells that education in this industry has yet to catch up to the masses. Why? Simple. Those in the know will tell you that the terpene profile of a given strain plays a far greater role in scents, flavors, and effects. That’s just one reason it’s worth your while to look past the THC percentage. Read more
There isn’t much that can be done to make the Offbeat Music Festival any cooler, except maybe add a cannabis sponsor. It was so much fun, we can’t wait for next year to do it all over again. Read more
When Travel Nevada and the Carson City and Ely City Bureau of Tourism put together a crackpot team of cyclists, historians, and trail whisperers to check out some of the trails crisscrossing Nevada’s Highway 50 – you know, the stretch poetically described as “the loneliest road in America” by Life magazine in 1986 – Teal Stetson-Lee was obviously on the list. The six-day trip, known as the “Nevada Highway 50 MTB Road Trip,” was an exploratory effort into embracing mountain bike tourism here in Nevada. We caught up with our original athlete ambassador to hear all about it, and we can tell you this – we’re totally on board with this mountain bike tourism thing. Read more
The nose knows – different cannabis strains have amazingly different aromas. And the magical little compound behind that symphony of scents? Terpenes! We’ve previously shined the spotlight on limonene and myrcene, and today we’re talking up one of the most researched terpenes around – pinene. Read more
If you’ve been gifted a bag or two of apples fresh off the neighbor’s tree, forget the pie. We looked high and low for some of the tastiest infused apple recipes, and we’ve settled on sharing just two. Women face an uphill battle in many aspects of life, and the same is true with the social stigma of cannabis use. That’s especially true for mothers, despite the socially acceptable use of wine for overwhelmed moms.
