Infused Guacamole for a Little Extra this Cinco De Mayo

Self-isolation or not, it’s Cinco de Mayo! It’s a day to celebrate Mexican food, culture, and heritage, even if you’re doing all that celebrating at home. If you’re whipping up some fresh guacamole to go with those margaritas or carne asada tacos, we’re sharing a recipe to kick things up. This infused guacamole is a little extra — in the best way.

The Amazing Avocado

Avocados are a great source of over 20 vitamins and minerals. They’re super high in fiber and promote a number of health benefits:

  • Promoting healthy digestion
  • Lowering cholesterol
  • Maintaining stable blood sugar
  • Maintaining a healthy gut microbiome

When you add CBD or a THC/CBD oil to the mix, like our own KYND tincture, you boost its health benefits even more. Good stuff, right?

Keep in mind, the best guacamole is fresh and simple. All you need is ripe avocados, freshly-squeezed lime juice, coarse salt, maybe some red onion. You can dress it up with tomato, garlic, cilantro, minced peppers, and, of course, cannabis oil, but there’s no need to muddle things up much beyond that.

Technique is important too — you want avocados that are creamy but still chunky, so don’t overdo the mashing.

Infused Guacamole Recipe

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • The juice of 1-2 limes
  • 1 tsp salt (more to taste)
  • 1-2 tbsp red onion
  • 1-2 servings of CBD or THC/CBD oil, to personal preference

  • 1 garlic clove, mashed
  • 1-2 tsp minced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tomato, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Cut and pit the avocados. Scoop out the flesh and transfer to a bowl. Add the lime juice, then use a fork to mash into a creamy, chunky paste. Stir in the salt and cannabis oil. If you’re adding all the extras, stir them in now. Adjust salt and lime juice to taste. Enjoy immediately, or refrigerate with a piece of wet plastic wrap laid directly on top of the guac.

Remember to keep your infused guacamole away from pets and kids, and please enjoy responsibly.
